November 28, 2006 - FSASE Winter Conference

Kurt Browning, Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, addressed attendees at a luncheon during the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections conference held in Orlando November 27th – November 30th.

November 7, 2006 - General Election Night

Volunteers staffing night boards inspected the supplies returned by the Precinct Election Officials after they closed their polling locations on election night.

 

November 4, 2006 - General Election Absentee Canvassing

Over 25 volunteers were brought in to canvass over 14,000 returned General Election absentee ballots on Saturday, November 4th at the Election Support Center in Dade City. Eight volunteers returned Election Day to canvass the remainder of the returned absentee ballots.

October 18, 2006 - Poster Contest Winners

Supervisor of Elections, Kurt Browning, announced the nine winners of the poster contest sponsored by his office as part of an ongoing Education/Outreach program. First, second and third place prizes were awarded to the top three winners of each third, fourth and fifth grade entry at their individual schools.

 

 

 

 

October 14, 2006 - General Election Early Voting Training

Supervisor of Elections, Kurt Browning, spoke to his volunteers prior to their General Election early voting training session at the Election Support Center in Dade City.

 

September 22, 2006 - General Election Absentee Mailing

Elections’ office staff and volunteers prepared nearly 10,000 General Election absentee ballots for a mass mailing at the Dade City elections’ office.

 

September 5, 2006 - Election Night

East side Precinct Election Officials returned supplies to the Election Support Center in Dade City after closing their polling locations on election night.

 

September 4, 2006 - Preparing for Election Day

Supervisor of Elections’ staff members met Precinct Election Officials on Labor Day to hand out election day supplies. Precinct Supervisors went to one of four locations including the Fleet Maintenance Facility in New Port Richey and the Election Support Center in Dade City to pick up their supplies.

 

September 2, 2006 - Absentee Canvassing

Nine teams of two canvassed nearly 5,000 returned absentee ballots on Saturday, September 2nd under the direction of the county canvassing board. The canvassing of the ballots took place at the Election Support Center in Dade City.

September 2, 2006 - Preparing for Election Day

Elections’ office staff members teamed up with volunteers to stamp absentee and early voters in the precinct registers at the Election Support Center in Dade City.

September 1, 2006 - Early Voting

Nearing the end of early voting for the Primary Election, volunteers waited for the polls to open at the East Pasco Government Center in Dade City. Over 100 volunteers were used to staff the seven early voting sites used by Pasco County.

 

August 31, 2006 - Poll Deputy Training Session

Pasco County Sheriff, Bob White, gave instructions and swore-in poll deputies during a Primary Election poll deputy training class held at the school board offices in Land O’Lakes.

 

August 12, 2006 - Early Voting Training Session

Kurt Browning, Supervisor of Elections, addressed volunteers at an early voting training session prior to the early voting period for the September 5 Primary Election. Over 6,500 electors voted early at one of the seven sites offered by the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections’ office.

 

July 24, 2006 - Candidate Workshop

The 2006 Candidates' Workshop held at the West Pasco Government Center on Monday, July 24th was well attended candidates, campaign treasurers and campaign volunteers. Supervisor of Elections Kurt S. Browning discussed the requirements of Chapter 106, Florida Statutes, and related election issues.

 

July 18, 2006 - Staff Meeting

Kurt Browning pulled his election team together for a staff development and training session at the Election Support Center in Dade City. The session focused on the upcoming fall elections.

 

 

June 28, 2006 - FSASE Summer Workshop

Secretary of State Sue M. Cobb addresses the attendants at the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections summer workshop in Amelia Island.

 

June 20, 2006 - PEO Online Training Platform

Supervisor of Elections’ staff members assisted Precinct Election Officials with their online training platform (OTP) during the two-month training period prior to election assignments and job specific trainings.

 


June 12, 2006 - Voter Outreach Ambassadors

The Voter Services department of the Supervisor of Elections office recognized the efforts of its volunteers at three "get together" workshops. The "Voter Outreach Ambassadors" attended the workshops on Monday, June 12th and Wednesday, June 14th enjoying refreshements and video instruction.

 

 


June 8, 2006 - Staff Development

The elections staff attended a staff development/training day at the Election Support Center on June 8, 2006 in preparation for the upcoming fall election cycle.

 

 


March 20, 2006 - Precinct Supervisor Workshops

Kurt Browning, Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, led two precinct supervisor workshops in late March. The workshops were used to inform Pasco’s poll managers with new state laws, as well as introduce the new policies and procedures the elections’ office will be implementing during the 2006 election cycle.

 

 


February 21, 2006 - Candidate Workshop

Kurt Browning, Supervisor of Elections, conducted a Municipal Candidate Workshop on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Land O' Lakes Community Center. Over 25 people attended the two hour workshop that focused on campaign finance and general election administration.

 

 


February 20, 2006 - February 26, 2006 - 2006 Pasco County Fair

The 2006 fair theme, “Pasco County Fair is Doggone Fun” challenged the elections staff to associate dogs with voting. The result was a circus dog show dubbed “Kurt S. Browning…The Best Doggone Show on Earth”. For the fourth year in a row, the fair booth won first place for Best Booth Depicting Fair Theme.

Volunteers were on hand to hold a mock election on the iVotronic touchscreen voting machine. Participants voted on their favorite dogs in movies, comics, and literature. An Electronic Voter Identification System, or , nicknamed at the fair as “Your Ticket to Easy Voting” was also showcased. , a computer workstation which automatically identifies and validates voter information by simply swiping a driver license, is being considered for use at the polls. will be used at some voting locations in the upcoming Municipal Elections and at early voting sites in the 2006 election cycle next fall. is some of the latest technology designed to facilitate the voting process.

January 23, 2006 - 2006 Clerks Meeting

Supervisor of Elections, Kurt Browning, met with the city clerks and their staff on Monday, January 23, 2006 at the David "Hap" Clark Professional Building in Land O' Lakes. The meeting was geared toward preparing the clerks for the upcoming municipal elections to be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
