|
February 10, 2009 - Ambassador Meeting
Voter outreach ambassadors attended a brief training recently to learn about the focus of this years’ voter education/outreach program. Our goal this year, in addition to registering new voters, is to encourage already-registered voters to update their registration information and to stay current. This pro-active approach coincides with the state-mandated voter registration list maintenance scheduled to begin in March. In the past, as many as 30,000 registered voters have been notified due to inactivity or inconsistencies in their address of record with the address on file with the Post Office. A “clean” voter registration list goes far in ensuring smooth, efficient elections.
