Warning: Washington DC Organizations Target Pasco Voters Again!
Pasco County FL - Brian E. Corley, Supervisor of Elections, warns that nearly 13,000 Pasco County voters are targeted to receive potentially misleading mailings from the Voter Participation Center (VPC) and the Center for Voter Information (CVI), both Washington DC based organizations. In the past, these organizations have used outdated and often incorrect data to mail pre-filled Florida Voter Registration Applications to voters who are already registered, deceased family members, under-age children and pets.
"Previous mailings from VPC and CVI have yielded many angry phone calls from residents who mistakenly think the information came from our office," said Supervisor Corley. "My staff is left to mitigate the fallout from these confusing mailings, and more concerning is the propensity of errors and inaccuracies to further erode voter confidence at a time when it desperately needs to be bolstered."
Voters should direct their questions, complaints and concerns about the mailing directly to VPC toll-free at 877-255-6750, and CVI at 202-766-6575. These organizations are in no way associated with the State of Florida, the Florida Division of Elections, or any elections' official.
In today's climate of security risks and identity theft, these mailings create suspicion and mistrust. For the most accurate information regarding voter registration, voters should contact the Supervisor of Elections' Office by calling 800-851-8754 or refer to https://www.pascovotes.com.
